Welcome Children - everywhere!

.
.
"Welcome and Hello" to you if you are in a country far from Britain.

After Christmas, in Britain, there may be a special supper for adults and older children in January in your local area.

You probably have recited poetry with your teachers and there was a poet in Scotland long ago. His name was Robert Burns. He is often called Rabbie Burns.

He is the Scottish national poet. Are there other national poets in the UK?

At the supper, people will eat "haggis" and there will bagpipe music.

On January 31 at the Ryefield Centre in Ross-on-Wye, there will be a Burns Supper and already, three pipers have volunteered to help. Tell your parents about the supper. Go with them when the volunteers go to a pipe band competition.

Look at the top of the right-hand column and meet them now. Hamish on the left is selling the tickets, Hector on the right will be looking after the kitchen.

As for Gordon, all he keeps talking about is when the supper starts!

You can help before the supper starts. Draw a picture of anything Scottish. Your parents will help you send it to the supper organisers. All the pictures will be used to decorate the hall.
